I won this car with an impulse bid. I think it's pretty cool! It has a handmade aluminium chassis. A little work and it should be a unique car. I have no idea how it will really work though.

Back in the day, we raced paved or gym floor oval with my pro with a mid set up for a while. it was fast and handled great both ways.

I converted one of my jr's to mid motor back in the day. It worked really well especially on carpet ovals.

I place the motor plate on the other side...this way, I could run my motors in normal rotation. I also had to modify the rear bulkhead so that I could palce a pivot block (1,2,3,4) in the rear (under the bulkhead) and the stock block (the one that came with the 5 link) on the front under the motor plate. If I didn't do this, the anti squat would be off (rear arms would be tilted downwards on the front).

Looks like a great project...have fun!!

highwayracer

It looks like it'll be fun. I'll see if it's a practicaldesign when I get it home. From the pictures does it look like that aluminum plate is thick enough to withstand abuse without some sort of bracing? I guess it would depend on what type/hardness of aluminum it is as well.

here is a picture of my oval/mid motor losi E.D.M. mine has the xx-retrofit gear box, but you can get the basic idea of how the car is layed out. here is the link to the whole post on here if you need more pics and info; http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2190

It's a long shot, but do you have a picture of what you did? I'm having a hard time visualizing what you are describing.
