I am just a cowboy lonesome on the trail... (Thin Lizzy). A Texas song for a Texas Car ( I know, I know it's from overseas  ). I always listen to music when I am creating. What do you guys listen to when building? Anyways, I felt this was an appropriate song for this car, its not finished, but I felt like sharing 8). BTW that is a B3 body, and a composite craft wide chassis. The body fits really nicely with few modifications. -Enjoy

I found them on the MIP site within the past year or two. They were part #1056.I can't seem to find them anymore.Did a search and all that came up was #1062 which is a service kit for the TRx-1,TRX-3/TCP,LS-II,and SRT cvd kits.

But to answer your question, yes they did make them at some point.

Very nice.

but just curious...is this 2 different stages of the car or did you decide to go back to the original steering setup?

front spindle is stock trx1, that axle is factory team b4.

On the driveshafts, JG also made a universal kit. Klavy has a set

Very nice looking car

Well, the steering are stock parts, just without the rack. Rack steering systems work well on loose or loamy conditions. A bell crank steering system works better on high bite or blue groove tracks. My current track is a large outdoor high bite clay/blue-groove track, so I thought I would start with this. The rear axle setup is an interesting one. Those are Kyosho OT-5 outdrives, and I willl be mounting Kyosho 60.5 mm CVD's with clamp hexes. I tried fitting 62mm CVD's, but they were a little too long. This will allow me to use current Kyosho 2.2 inch rims. I may even be able to use traxxas rear rims, but I havent tried it yet. As for the front axle, they are stock TRX1 pieces, just modified with a set screw for the king pin (added security, and reduction in play), and a drilled hole in the end for a screw capture instead of the stock giant nut. I think it looks cleaner 8). -Jeff

So they are traxxas front axles you modified and had anodized? Looks good whatever they are! I hope to make some progress with my TRX1 soon, I have too many "racing" projects right now, so it's just been sitting since I fitted the new body.

+1. I was already impressed thinking that they were B4 spindles fitted to Traxxas knuckles. If those things started life as TRX-1 threaded axles, then I am very impressed! Nice work!!

Yes, they are TRX1 front axles, trimmed an anodised. I will post more pics soon. Finished off the tranny tonight, trimmed the chassis. Just waiting on CVD's and a few other odds and ends. -Jeff

Heres a few more pics. The bearing pic is of a std. 3/16 x 3/8 bearing as the spur adaptor. Lightly presses on hex shaft, no more brass or plastic bushing :D . The chassis pic is where the chassis got cut to accomodate the B3 body. The rear shaft pic is of the optional Kyosho "proline wheel axle" for the RB5. These axles paired with the 60.5 mm CVD bone is perfect 8). Not much left to do. Hope I can finish it soon. -Jeff
