hello James,
It depends on the tires you're going to use and how much you're willing to modify your car.
You can actually run the hex style wheels on the gallop. Even though it doesn't use a hex, there's enough friction created by the gallop "circle" to be able to do this.
The gallop uses 2 different diameter wheels. The fronts are a little bit larger than the rears. The rears are the same size as the rear wheels used on the original Kyosho Raider (same rear tiers are used). I don't know of any front wheel that can be used on the gallop and still be able to use the same front tire size.
If you're ok with not using the original tires, then you can use wheels/tires from the original optima/javelin.
As for other brands, wheels from the hirobo zerda, marui samurai and aristcraft kangaroo (rears) also use the circle press fit. Again, by using these wheels, you may no longer be able to use the stock gallop tires since they may be a different diameter. When I think of this more, you can even use the original rc10 rear wheels on the front and rear of the gallop.
Are you looking to upgrade the wheels of your gallop?...or do you not have the original wheels?

HI Highway,
Thanks for the detailed answer, I have a progress which is in good condition but the wheels are looking a little tired and the tyres arent great so wanted to spruce it up a bit. Im happy to put something different on besides standard, i had suspected i would be about to 'press fit' several brands on but wanted to check if there were any alternatives out there that would drop straight on.
Im looking for a gallop cage also if you know of anything.
Regards
James
