I bought a lot of motors that included a few stock motors to use in stock class racing, and I got a Kyosho LeMans 480S motor in the deal. The endbell looks new, there hasn't been any motor wires soldered, besides the nicks on the front of the can, the motor looks basically new. Is it worth running?

you could probably sell it to a kyosho collector and get enough to buy a current stock motor.

That's actually a very mild modified motor...that's one of the "eight minute" motors. I wouldn't be surprised if stock motors form the same timeframe were faster than that. Personally, I don't think it's worth running. It's great to have a vintage motor for a vintage event, but just to bash around with may not be the best thing for the motor.

If you have a nice kyosho shelfer, then that would be the perfect motor for it.

BTW, what color is the end bell? do you have any pictures of it?

The endbell is a blue Yokomo style that has adjustable timing. I will get some pictures of it after work tonight when I can get ahold of some batteries.

If you dont want to put it in a shealfer.

Sell it. Should be enough to buy a new brushed motor.

Yes its a Mild mod motor but in its day was rather quick.

Its a 24t single with.80mm ga wire. Max revs 21 to 22ooo.

It may be in good nic but old motors perform worse than they did in their time due to the magnets loosing their strength.
