Hot Trick Stuff 'Tuber' w/ Associated parts?

Hey Folks-- really glad I found RC10Talk!
I've had this car for a while-- it was given to me in pieces...
I'd always thought it was composed of 10L parts, but a scan through some of the posts here make me think it has 12L front end parts?
Please let me know what you see and know if it!
It is a fast little bugger and hard as hell to keep in a straight line, as the suspension is virtually non existent. It has certainly taught me to be a much better driver...

Welcome to the board.
Cool sprint. From what I can see it is a Hot Trick sprint with a modified front end. I think the original had a flat plate that went across the front and sat on rubber o-rings.

huh. Interesting-
The rear has something similar to what you describe-- the motor/axle mount attaches to the chassis with 4 silicone grommets. It's this that allows for what little 'suspension' the frame has...
The front is what came with the single sheet, hand written, instructions. I've always been terrified of breaking the front wheel brackets-- never thought I'd be able to get replacements-- hence the Blackfoot bumper.
The kit did include angled shims that give alitte caster to the steering-- the can be seen between the frame plate & brackets.

I had one of these and it was exactly as yours. Same style suspension parts, etc. I think the front suspension is 10L/12L which can still be found, mostly in black though. Yours sure is in a lot nicer condition than mine was. I think they're on the rare side as I've only seen a few over the last many years.

Thanks--
Yeah, they seem pretty rare-- I had never even heard of this kit before (not that I'm any sort of authority)-- I literally got it in a pile of parts (these and others) and was amazed that this was the end result.
So the 10L & 12L share the same front end parts? It's confusing, because I've seen quite a few different front ends on the Associated pan cars-- both 10th & 12th scale. I guess what makes it even more confusing is that there were (are?) so many aftermarket 'hop-up' kits for these cars.
I have a 10L with some wacky front suspension on it...

Very nice! A member on here recently had one of those direct drive rear pods for sale on ebay. I tried to win it, but was outbid. The seller didn't know the brand, but it sure seems like something Hot Trick would have made.
Here are the pics I saved from the auction:

Peter,
I was mistaken in my first post. I found this ad in an old RCCA that shows the sprint with the same front end as yours. In the same magazine (sept 88) they have a dirt oval buyers guide which shows the Hot Trick rc10 conversion which uses a similar chassis and side plates but uses the HT wide front end and rc10 suspension.

railey-- nice find!!!
That photo explains where they meant for those red brackets to go!
Hmmm... I'm sure a wing will make this thing behave differently-- possibly keep it on the ground a little better...
