Boxers are such comedians , I love them , before we moved here I used to walk with two women , one had a boxer , the other a husky , the woman who owned the boxer was Vegan and had the dog on a vegetarian diet , she did it well and Barny the boxer was fit as a fiddle on the vegetarian diet until one day I had a pocket full of beef scraps from a roast meal the day before to use as dog treats , Barney just walked up to me and stuck his nose to my pocket , virtually weeping for the smell of the beef , it changed her mind on the spot about his diet as she had never seen him like that over food before .
Barny was really bonkers full of life and I remember her recounting a conversation with her vet when she had asked at what age he might calm down , the vet replied " boxers calm down usually 2 maybe 3 minutes before they die "

Made a 17 hour drive yesterday to pick up a friends puppers that he couldn’t take to his new living place. Ten month old boxer pup. He is such a good boy, handled the 8.5 hour drive home like a pro and gets along great with our other boxers.

Fml. As soon as we got Thor we also got a message that there are two intact male boxers that need a foster. These aholes are a whole nother level for us. They are marking everything and have got violent with themselves a couple times over nothing. The other 99.9% of the time they are super lovey and snuggly.

My cheap ass made them some dog tags instead of paying for them at Petco lol

Sure you'll turn those bad boys round , our last collie took a little while to settle and she was aggressive at times , patience and a complete absence of anger , I've found that if I growl when they do bad they get the message best .

This afternoon there was a disturbance next door , there was a dog crying , howling and barking , they don't have a dog next door :!: We do , we have three , one of them Em is in season  here she is in a post dinner coma .

Someone up our street was walking their dog off the lead past our house on the way home , it's a quiet dead end street in the countryside so no big deal usually , not today  the whole young male spaniel took one sniff and attempted a break in for some love
My wife loves to breed the dogs and we've had quite a few litters but this has never happened before , you do hear about boy dogs that run miles and over ten foot walls but we'd never seen one before , luckily our back garden is pretty secure :!:
As it goes Em saw her boyfriend last Saturday so hopefully we won't be needing the attention of wayward Spaniels

14 years with a full sized dog like that is a pretty good run. I know it doesn't help with the loss, but that dog gave you as much time as could be expected. That comes from both being a good dog and having a good family to care for it.
