OK, so I've heard of the MIP 4WD version-- but does anyone have info on this thing? I have been kicking it around my parts bin for years. As far as I can tell, it replaces the gold pan's front plate. It looks like the larger holes are for bearings or something. I Googled it-- nothing-- anyone have info???

I have no info other than to say THAT is neat! Never seen that before.

I would guess, judging by the fact that there is no mechanism to mount the front arms, that you attach some sort of bulkheads to each side, they probably would contain the bearing support.

my first thought was a frog front end, but it looks much different from the one posted here:

wow-- nice work!

I was totally thrown by the RC-10 gold-pan mounting holes...

Yeah, I saw the small mounting holes, but couldn't imagine what bolted up to them... go figure! :o

mystery solved....

I guess it can still be used on a gold-pan chassis, to retrofit a Fox front end onto a RC10.

this thing is going on eBay.

More likely the intent is the corresponding Hot Trick chassis can mount an RC10 front end...the Red Prince Frog chassis is the same way.

How hard is the front end to find? I have a chance to get this car near me locally for a decent price but want to know if it will be worth it to wait and find the front end? Thanks

So I guess they dont come by very often then. Well I still might get it and hope that it comes around. What about the 4wd mechanism, belts, gears and all the rest, is that stuff available through a different route besides Hot Trick?

Your luck might be about to change. I understand from RC Lohas that they are considering a repro Red Fox kit along the lines of the same quality as their Red Hotshot. I'm keeping my eye open....
