This is inspired by RCCA's Project Optima in their Dec. '87 issue.

Since I don't have a gold Optima or a Kyosho buggy at all, this Spider EP TF2 touring car chassis is going to have to do. I've had this car for 15 years and it saw little action so its clean aside from a slightly warped chassis. That I might replace later depending on how this goes. The chassis is 200mm so it's very narrow compared to the Optima. It should be easy to convert this car into a buggy, just needs some width.

I have some Ultima arms NIP that fit and should widen things up a bit but the rear arms are a little too wide for the hinge pins. I could go Ultima front arms all the way around and that would work but I think that's silly and I don't wanna bust open both my NIP Ultima arms.

The Kyosho universals are a little too long and won't work with the Ultima front arms. (think the universals come from an Ultima or Optima, not sure) I'm now thinking I want to try different ones altogether. Can anybody tell me what Kyosho buggy the TF2 is most closely related to? Is it the first Lazer? I want to try Lazer or Optima mid arms next.

My goal is to keep it all Kyosho. Optima series wheels and tires, 240ST motor, and a mixture of Kyosho suspension parts. I've got a body picked out that should work perfectly and I plan on doing a similar paint scheme as the RCCA Project Optima.
