RC10 newbie build

Hello,

so, here is my first post on this forum... If there is somewhere to intrroduce myself, just let me know ;)

I recently fell in love with the carbon fiber tub Fiber Lyte makes for the RC10. So I had to get a RC10... I had seen this car on magazines when I was young, but never in person. Not knowing anything about those, I sourced one on ebay. Here it is.

So it has long front arms, I thought it was an RC10 CE but it has an A stamped chassis (so probably 6 gear tranny)... Don't really know what to think about this car, except it's in nice condition. Anyone to help me?

Thanks a lot!

Julien

Welcome to the forum! You definitely have a 6 gear there. Looks like a nice clean tub too.

Thanks!!!

The tub is clean indeed, but is scratched at the rear, under the motor. Otherwise, the car looks almost like new!

So this should be a 1990 or 1991 RC10 CE. Am I right?

Well Julien, I'm no authority but it certainly looks like a CE to me. Here is one of my CE projects. Do your wheels look like this? Also the front shock tower is correct for a CE.

Looks like we have the same car :D Thanks a lot! Now I have to begin to source some parts to begin the build.

Hey Julien,

Your car looks to be in great shape. It seems from the pictures that all you need is a body and a battery box. A very nice car indeed! Good luck on the restore...do you plan to run it or is it a self queen?

Hi Matteo!

It's pretty nice indeed. I didn't want a worn car for this build as I want to make a shelfer from her... The plans are a Fibrelyte chassis and damper mounts, titanium turnbuckles, alloy wheels, a nice body (Proline if I can source one...) and maybe some other goodies and details... I'm a stupid guy because I ordered stainless steel screw for 2 other cars and forgot to order some for this one... Hopefully I will be able to build this one with the remainings of the other kits...
