i was sitting at my bench, and i was looking at the instruction sheet for my 8080 rpm kit. not for any good reason, just something to do. at the bottom of the sheet it says:
THANKS FOR PURCHASING R.P.M. PRODUCTS! All of our
molded parts are guaranteed against
breakage and can be returned to us directly
if this should ever happen!
now, it doesn't say "can be replaced", but if we broke a bunch of used rpm worlds parts and sent them back, do ya think they'll pop some out?
i know, i know. it'll never happen. but it'd be sweet if it would.

Lifetime warranty = the lifetime of the part or product. If it's broke, it's life is over...

I contacted RPM not to long ago, and they don't even have the records on that old stuff.
I'm sure that if somebody started reproducing the parts, they would find the records real quick.

I emailed them a while back to ask about their warranty policy. I got this reply:
"Unfortunately, any RPM parts that have been discontinued and are no
longer stocked by RPM are not covered under RPM warranty provisions because
we won't be able to send out replacements. Our warranty policy is a
replacement only policy."
Anything discontinued is no longer covered, even though their warranty policy page (
http://www.rpmrcproducts.com/faq/warranty.htm)makes no mention of lack of availability of older parts.
Maybe if more of us contacted them they would either make the older parts available or update the policy.

When I e-mailed RPM,I asked about white parts in general, and their response was "There is no mainstream demand for RC 10 parts anymore" Basically just us antique guys holding on to old goodies.I showed a friend of mine a pic of Hooptys car,and the guy said "What the hell is that" I just laughed

But yet,he has a bunch of older RC 10's and hop-ups that would make alot of us drool.

Same deal with PC graphics cards. They have a limited lifetime guarantee which means when a particular model (say an NVidia 6800 ultra) is superseded by another model and the 6800 is no longer available, the guarantee is no longer valid. How often are graphics cards rendered obsolete, every week or two

Well it could mean that if you complain that you broke a part, they WILL come and KILL you for breaking their parts.........

Just out of curiosity, has anybody here ever broken a RPM Part? I know I haven't, at least not that I recall.
