First off, I'd like to say hi to everyone! I'm new to RC cars in general & just got my first RC10. I have some questions about it that hopefully y'all can help me out with. I got a gold pan in a trade recently that I was going to sell, but after playing with it for a while I think I found a new hobby . I literally know NOTHING about these cars, so all of the parts/maintenance is foreign to me, but I'm mechanically inclined to a point so hopefully I can catch on quick.

Here is a list of parts that I noticed on the buggy, I'll try to get some pics soon.

LRP IPC Sport speed controller
Speedworld Pole Position New Wave motor (can't seem to find info on this part)
Futaba receiver (FP-R122 JE)
Futaba pistol grip controller
blue RPM rear control arms (I think they're called control arms???)
Some generic looking yellow NiCD battery with no markings
Stickers all over the body including:
Team Trinity
TG ???? Looks like a sideways T but not sure what it is
Dynamite!
BoLink
& most of the other parts that I listed are also on the body. Truthfully it looks like too many stickers for my taste, especially since I have no idea what they mean or can't find some of the parts on the actual buggy.

Any help figuring out what I got & possibly how to get some replacement parts for this thing is greatly appreciated since I'm sure stuff's gonna need replaced/repaired sooner or later. Is there markings on the body to look for? I noticed gold pans came in a couple of varieties. Also, my battery only keeps a charge for 10-15 minutes. I know NiCD's develop a memory, but is it possible to build up the charge time where it will last longer or should I go buy a new battery? I've been running it down all the way & charging a full 2 hours with a basic NiCD charger with no noticeable difference yet.

If you can post pics it will yield a lot more results in the way of help. If it runs for 10-15 minutes w/ nicads then that's very common and even respectable. That's a good sign that you have a solid runner to start with. Really need pics to provide a lot of help, and 99.9% of the members here know a lot more than me. It can be tedious, but look around this forum and you can answer all your own questions. ...But if you're like me, just post pics and ask for help. It's easier and most people enjoy sharing their knowledge. As time passes if you really take an interest, you'll search the site more and more. With what you're starting with this site should be very helpful.

Welcome to the site and hobby.You will find you will enjoy working on your car as much as running it.Pleanty of parts around for the gold tub so its one of the best vintage cars for running.The gold tub comes with short track front end and then the champion edition wide front end so if you need to buy front end parts keep this in mind.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'll try to get pics up ASAP. It's always good news to hear when parts are available. I wish it was that easy for some of the cars (full size) that I've restored/modified. Try finding body parts for 73-77 Chevelles, LOL.

So what's the width measurements in the short & wide track cars? Are the front ends are interchangeable & how can I tell the difference? I'll start searching........

2 white wheels with TQ-21 tires
1 Chrome wheel with TQ-20 tire
1 TQ-71 tire
2 Proline Diamond tires & one aluminum? wheel
4 white wheels with 4 rib Team Associated tires
2 white wheels with Team Associated tires (probably the only good set of rears)
2 solid white wheels without tires. They are actually too large to fit any of the tires I have.

I'm really interested in finding out about the Proline tires & where to find more of those aluminum wheels. They look pretty interesting.

do you know what sort of body that is i have a couple of runner s with that shape body ?

Not unless one of the many stickers on it have the name of the body. Is there some kind of marking to look for?

the body looks like a stock b2....... b3 maybe.

So is my car either B2 or B3 or just the body?

Just wondering what parts to search for when looking on the net. If you notice on the 4th pic I have a loose front wheel. The spindle(?) spins when I try to tighten the wheel. Pretty sure I need to replace it.

just the body. the car is just a standard short arm gold tub rc10.

OK that's what I thought. I looked around a little & started noticing that B3s were the newer models. Thanks for reassuring me I don't have the long arm version. New spindles, aluminum wheels, & new rear tires should be simple to find then correct? Ebay can be picky sometimes so I've been searching for vintage RC10 & gold pan RC10 parts since it should give similar search results. Not that I'm buying anything yet, just doing more homework on them.

You can buy the original body for your car new from ebay called a Protech.I have some used white rear arms if you wanted to go original.By the looks you could also need a battery cup instead of that zip tie .

LOL, yeah the zip tie cracked me up. I need to find a battery cup & fix the front spindle/hub assembly before I can toy around with it too much. I don't think I will make it original, it's pretty scratched up so I just want to use it as a toy.
