Yet another project awaiting the paint booth.......

This car was a well used buggy when I got it a few years ago. Since then every piece of plastic has been replaced with exception of the tranny gears and the top chassis cover. The front tires, front and rear axles, pressed metal bits, and the speed control with it's wiring are the only original parts left on it. Everything else is new. Even the battery pack.

I would love to run a Fox in the classic class in CT, but it seems to suffer with a-arms made out of a very brittle plastic. Shame, as it is a really fast car!

I agree that those rear arms are a bit weak. Mine broke on the first outing with my recently restored Fox.....although that was probably more due to my bad driving combined with the Dynatech II motor I put in there, rather than anything else.

Are you going with the box-art blue colour for the shell?

Yes, but more of a dark candy blue instead of the standard blue.

Sweet! The Fox was my first real r/c. It was a fast car and a lot of fun. I don't remember having any troubles with breaking the a-arms. Maybe the plastic gets brittle after all the years? I do know I broke the front of the chassis where the bumper connects just by moving the car from shelf to shelf.

The fox is a great buggy and gave many rc-10s a run for the money back in the day. Yours however is way to nice to run now. I would take all your spares from the resto and pic up a beater off of ebay and make a runner out of it.

Unfortunately I sold all the leftover used parts on ebay a few months ago. I do not like keeping that stuff as it is too tempting to build yet another car.....

Nice Brandon you really are banging them out Hey the local guy running the fox at the vonats spent more time trying to epoxy his broken arms then racing i think your right maybe another candidate.

Brandon - have you managed to make any progress on the paint job for this? Would definitely like to see pics if you have....

they broke consistantly around the ball joints and screw in hinge area's didnt they

Brings back memories,
The Fox was my 1st hobby grade R/C.

Never had a problem breaking arms, just wearing out drive shafts.

But only ran 540 motors, which might explain why I never broke arms, plus it was in 1986, so the plastic was new.

I hope they re-re this one

Some updated pics. Finally got some paint sprayed and swapped the motor out with a High Endurance. Still need to paint the driver, but I am happy with it for now.

looks very nice. The endurance motor looks good in there but it's begging for a Technigold
