This car has been a blessing and a curse.
The blessing is that I got the car dirt cheap. Were talking $30. And it was in excellent shape considering. Came with a Futaba servo worth the price of the whole car. Came with an older GM racing ESC too. Bonus.
Another good thing is that parts are still somewhat in stock at Kyosho for it. Got a new Kyosho CF chassis for it the other day for a whopping $12 (ebay).
The curse? NOBODY owns a manual for this car. Kyosho doesn't have one for reference! Never seen one on the bay either. Haven't found one to download off the net. I did get lucky, one of the members here unearthed one and he took pics of the exploded view and parts listing. At least I know what part #'s to order now!
I picked up the body especially for this car. I had a chassis to use, and love the old Kyosho GT-40 body sets, so I figured why not.... The quality of the body is top notch, and the detail is awesome. I did have to remount the top of the front shocks more inboard and lower. Then trim the shocktower down for clearance. This body sits low on the chassis! The wheels installed on it are just for mock up. I plan on using the HPI Vintage 8 spoke wheels with the appropriate HPI tires. It will get the width I'm looking for. The wheels will be chrome and I will paint the inner spokes orange. A set of See's KO's will hold them on. More pics to follow after I get some paint slung...
