 Well I just picked up my 5th car in about a month and the wife has about had so I guess its about time to build instead of buy. Picked this up since I might turn it into a nice runner for my daughter, im thinking dyeing the parts purple! Here some shots of it.

After looking at it I think i found gold for the price. Stealth spins so freely, all bearings spin great in carriers and bell cranks. Have to replace rear shock tower since corner is broken off. A couple questions what are those adjustable tie rods, brand wise? Are those shocks worth keeping, im not a big fan of threaded shocks? And one of the swing shafts are broken, the dog bone end is broken off, anyone know where I can pickup that dog bone piece? Thanks

Those be Tecnacraft ti-rods, you'll have a hard time finding just a piece to fix the cvd so probably easiest to find a new or used set on eBay or maybe even a lhs.

yeah, I find it best to not keep the S.O. in the loop about RC cars, I keep a little money from my side jobs set aside in my personal slush fund, to buy and sell RC stuff. I do go racing with my son every other weekend though, so it's really not that big of a deal to her since it's a "family activity"

Well the car even geared down is pretty fast with that Trinity motor. I opted to put in a 6gear instead of the stealth that came with it and I put the older steering on instead and replaced with dogbones, also rebuilt the shocks and replaced with stock springs. The RPM shanks are way too long and are throwing off the toe of the wheels as you can see. Here are some pics and any advice someone can give I would appreciate it. Also need to get a body to paint for her probably purple to black flame look.

you can trim those rpm ball cups so you can adjust them better. Use a very sharp xacto blade, and carefully trim off 1/8" or so from each cup. I usually lay the plastic on a piece of wood, and then kinda lean on the blade till it cuts off cleanly. watch your fingers though!

otherwise, you can use a dremel cutoff or razor saw or something, but you'll have to clean up the cut with those methods, they will leave dross.

You may want to turn the motor the other way to lessen the likelihood of the motor wires being ripped off by something on the ground too. Cleaned up nice though. Should be a good runner.

jwscab - I never even thought of trimming the ends, thanks.

THEYTOOKMYTHUMB - Good eye didnt realize about the wires being ripped of, thank you too!

Probably going to try some other motors out and see what runs the best.

DEFINATELY rotate the motor around! I would worry less about the wires being ripped off than I would the speedo motor leads shorting on the chassis! -Jeff
