Thinking of buying one to race. Does anyone have one and what do you think? How would it compare to the T4?

I picked up a used brushed XXX-T graphite on eBay a while ago and I love it. It really flies, and is very well built. I haven't broken anything on it yet. <knock on wood> Transmission is smooth, steering is tight.

Haven't owned a T4 so I can't offer you much insight there.

We have a first generation XXX-T and a couple of the latest CR versions. I might be a little biased, but I think overall they are very competitive. The Losi shocks are a little easier to deal with to get them right (AE fans post your abuse & legal threats as desired  ). Out of the box the Losi is generally a little easier to drive, a little more planted in the rear. The T4 a little more aggressive, a little more planted in the front. But either can be set up the other way without a whole lot of effort, both have plenty of adjustment with lots of setups readily available. Most of the T4 guys I know frequently use aftermarket rear hubs to add rear toe and gain some rear traction, other than that I think either can be made to work really well without much else than typical shock tuning.

Nowadays it’s a 3 way race really, with the Kyosho truck in the mix. Kinda cool I think, after years of a 2 way battle, to see a 3 way slugfest. Perhaps even 4 with X Factory.

Bottom line, go for it and have some fun!

My brother and I both run XXXT's. We have had no major trouble with them, they seem to be very durable. Much easier to handle in the rough stuff compared to the buggies. The only thing I have switched to are the MIP CVD's in terms of drive train modification.
