Call Darryl, he might have the shock mount, and probably has the tranny you are looking for. :D

Daryl definitely still has LW transmissions. Make sure you tell him you want a power clutch with it. :)

i just got this chassis from daryl. he said he had stock front towers but wasnt sure what that meant (alloy) looking for a deal on the tranny i guess instead of full price lol are they very durable btw?

I've heard the A&Ls are pretty durable. I haven't tested it though. :)

I too thought I'd could find a deal, but based on LWs sold on ebay, paying an extra $20 seems like a good way to get a brand new tranny. Keep us in the loop with pics.

im in need of front hubs n carriers. but dont know if i should try new rb5 style like mike's done of maybe search for a robinson racing ultima set up. I kinda like to use my T&A rims on it but I am not too sure if they will work with a newer set up. planning to assemble the gear box soon and mount it then it will become more complete. if tower wasnt so expensive to ship to canada i would just grab a ST-15 hub n carrier set for the front. GRRR

Very nice! Do you have a body in mind? One thing to think about is that you may have to widen the front track to match the rear. You can used original Ultima spindles, etc but you'll have to use Andy's front arms or similar.

hmm cause it comes with these really thick hex drives i assumed that was to widen it. im not mounting them with my rims. i'd like a paor of black andy for sure . i had a pair and sold them because i could never find the rears lol

That's because there were never any rears made (I think).
Yeah, I don't think you need wider arms if you put RB5 parts on it, but then you won't be able to use them wheels either: they don't take hexes upfront do they?

gear box together, ball diff with hard final pinion gear n bearings.

thorpe undergears for the outside...

i tried installing the T&A rims but they are rubbing on the trailing arm, they need the hex on the axles still in order to not rub.

I agree it needs a wider stance in the front.i grabbed a robinson racing 18 degree caster set for it but still need a pair of black andy's front a arms or pro xl. i think the triumph ones are a lil weak.

also i tried a traditional ultima body turbo style and the rear body mount is really high from the chassis.i almost think i'll need an rc10 style of body for this set up.not too sure on variety of body's to use.

Looks fantastic! I wonder if an Outrage body would work.

It's funny, the reason why I didn't buy the trailing arm kit from Daryl is because I figured newer wheels would rub against the trailing arms. You may be able to use some Lazer CVDs and get the spacing correct. I used LA258 on my build. These have a shorter dogbone length than the RB5 CVD but have the same axle length as the RB5. This way you can use spacers to move the axle around. There are other Lazer/Ultima CVDs but the dogbone was too long and resulted in it going too deep into the outdrives and limiting suspension travel.

I definitely suggest getting some Andy's arms for the front. There was a set that just ended a few days ago on rapeBay. I'm sure another set will pop up soon.
