This one or next? Seems like a pretty ambitious project to have done in a couple of months. That is, unless you've quit your day job to devote all your time to the jeep.

You know, I have never thought about the concept of putting a diesel in a Jeep before. I think it would be really cool to have one with an old Chevy 6.5 in it. 8)

someone had the bright idea that a v8 was better than a straight four so long term it will get a vw tdi
looks like a cj5 so a even a stock 4 would be ok.... i dont understand why people dont run a newer jeep 4 or straight 6...

Its a 1946 willys cj2a and i wish it had the original engine but that's long gone the reason for vw lump is easy to fix lots of torque and the obvious reason its a VW

The irony of something developed in WW II would be powered by a piece of German engineering

My DAD had a WILLYS back in 59 at our SHELL station in St.Pete we used it to push cars around and retreve cars out of low water,it was a 4 banger, was learning how the clutch worked till I ran it through the bay door, driving lesson over,we also had a 59 apache that I did get to drive alot. Johnny

Looks like it is going to be a fun project.

Going to start working on my Jeep this weekend. Need to swap out the engine.
