Hello everybody,

Can somebody give me a tip , how to make the dark windows according to the original pics on the box of my Optima MID special ?
It looks black from distance , but it is lucent. Is it a film, or is it smoke-spray ?

thank you in advance
Michi

back that time we didn't have tamiya PS31 Smoke :(

but Tamiya did sell a Smoke in their acrylic X-bottle; some ppl airbrushed this on.
Dries clear & more coats make it darker.

Other fellas used window tint film, get offcuts from the car tinting shops.
Works good on flat windows, the bubble canopy style may be more difficult.

Pactra candy colors work good too. I have seen a lot of bodies done with the diff colors. Practice with airbrush on scrap to get the thinner paint air mixture that works best for you.

Thanks guys for your tips. I would prefer the tint film , because i think it's difficult to cover the fine window frames before spraying something. I will paint the body boxart and so it would be needfull to cover the complete white rest .
About the tint film. To my knowledge 1:1 tint film clings to the car window with water :? Would this work with such little pieces in my case :?:
I dont think so. I'm searching about a tin film which is self-sealing . Any ideas ??

Pactra makes a paint called window tint. If you use this make sure the body is clean and free of oils or else it will look like s**t when you are done.
