I didn't have any fuel line so I made a set using shrink tubing. Such a simple idea, I would have never thunk it up.

Yup, that trick has worked for years. You can do it for the hinged lid on your fuel tank as well; just leave the tie wrap really long, and let it stick out the front windshield.
