Just to get a feel, and to know how many to make.
How many people here would buy a full reproduction set of the GOODYEAR tires for $100.00 ?
This 'set' consists of two 7-groove front tires with GOODYEAR on the sides and two rear tires with GOODYEAR on the sides. These tires would be reproduced from actual brand new original tires.
I will post pictures of these tires once we have run the first step. Since these repro tires are mainly for shelf queens, they will look externally and mount to your stock rims just like the originals do, but the front tires would be solid rubber inside (ease in mfg) and the rear tires will have a slightly thicker inner wall thickness (ease in mfg as well). The repro tires will have a very small mark to denote it is a repro tire as well.
The price is due to the very short run. There is very little money made due to the extremely short run and depending on the feedback here, once the initial run is made I may never make another run of these again. So it may be a one time run for all effects and purposes, but will allow those that buy a set in either restoring their old Edinger cars, Edinger replicas or Box-Art Replicas now or in the possible future.
By posting here you are not commiting to anything, just to see what kind of interest there is for these. The process, labor involved and materials are very expensive, and I am financing this effort to be able to provide not only myself, but others with a chance at acquiring tires for their current or future builds.

We've talked about the replica stuff before and you know it's not my thing, but if it helps you get the numbers you need to make it happen I'd buy a set.

My thoughts on reproduction items is that they are like fake tits. They look great but they aren't real. I don't think I would buy a set.

Using that theory there would be no point in anyone ever building a replica of anything. It's still not the real thing! All the box art replicas and Halsey replicas would pointless, except to the person who built it. For them, a repro tire would probably be just fine. It's not the real thing, but then again neither is the car it's going on!

There is something intrinsic about having the actual vintage part. Everything else is just a copy.

I think you would sell them but I don't see that kind of value in them even though they are hard to come by they do pop up from time to time for average of 100.00 to 150.00 for a new set of originals so I wouldn't think it would be worth the risk of putting up your time and money unless you did a huge run of them and got the price down to a more reasonable cost but that is just my opinion.

dont forget the fact they are fun to play with, even if they are fake. mount them up and take them for a good ride in the dirt... the tires i mean..................

Regardless of the response here, they are being made and I will get the sets I need, a few extras and sell the rest through ebay for anyone that wants them.

Jharris, no need to buy a set unless you want them. I already have the ball rolling on these regardless if I buy them all and sell them sporadically on ebay.

I would definitely buy the repro tires for $75, although, I am not completely uninterested at $100 - it's a bit more difficult to 'play with them' at $100.

without repro's most of our cars wouldnt even have bodies(we all know who to thank) how many sets of oringinal eddinger tires are even out there? not many id bet, lets face it we might never get another chance to finish a super rare car. id buy a set for sure 25.00 a tire good on you mate for attempting this.

This project has just come to a close today, due to our molding departments recent finding of the need for more specialized silicones and composites due to cure process'. These specialized materials turning out to cost many times more than we had factored in, so rather than continue with the endeavor, I have decided to end it.
We had been doing continuing research into finding the most inexpensive process to be able to produce them as inexpensive as possible so that I could drop the price as much as I can, but we suddenly ran into a road block that initially did not appear as much of a problem as it just suddenly turned out to be when we got the information for the material cures.
