I noticed mabuchi 540 has opposite timing than RC10 tranny. and, I got 2 questions

1. anyone knows a 540 motor without (or counter) timing than mabuchi's

2. has anyone tried 5.9 to 6.0 gearing with 540? I'll use Lipo 25C battery. it's better than old batteries. but I'm not sure less than 6.5 gear ratio would work fine

Timing? Or rotation?

The Johnson and Mabuchi should be zero timing ! !
I used 25t to 31t on carpet (78t spur and foam tyres)
and 21t to 25t (81t spur) on dirt tracks on my RC10ce with a Johnson 540

zero timing but often they do whizz (unloaded) in reverse at a slightly higher RPM/frequency

but when you actually run it under load, there's no difference

when racing 540 onroad i had cars running the motor 'reversed' and laptime
was identical to same car running conventional rotation with same motor.

thank you SnoopMax and tamiya

I checked my 540 again. cooling holes made me confused. timing was 0 as SnoopMax said. I'll try lower gearing with modern Lipo battery.

the track was built for the rally cars and was very small. I started with the old tires then I replaced the tires at the 2nd round. and then put large wing at the final
B2 got the 1st and 2nd prize.
fortunately the body is still shiny and clean. even looks like new one.

23t pinion with 82t spur worked great. thank you again
