i've been thinking about doing something like this for awhile now. from where i live, northampton, pa.... about an hour or so north of philly, there's quite a few members here on the board within a 2 to 2 1/2 hour ride of my place. so i thought it'd be cool to find a track where we could get together, run our cars/truck, and more or less just hang out for the day (a saturday or sunday). the best place would obviously have to be indoors, that way we wouldn't have to be worried about the weather outside, and also, the shop not be holding one of their weekly club races. that aspect of it might be tough.

so anyway, just throwing this out there for the time being. we can see what kind of interest there is in it, and go from there. finding a location, figuring out a date, etc.

does bumps keep an off-road track set up or just an oval?

I'd love to be there, although I likely won't have any weekends free until mid-July.

if the date works out for me, and I have something worthy to run, that would be an excellent idea. With a 2 yr old and a second baby almost here, it will probably be tough to get gear ready, so I would be a maybe at best. Even if I don't have anything to run, I might be able to stop up for a bit depending on how far from Philly it ends up (I'm probably alot closer than I think to you; willow grove area?)

I'm in it would be a little ride but the views are great let's do it.

your probably like an hour or so away from me.

the track doesn't have to be near me. to be honest, i don't think there's an indoor track within 2 hours of me. so i'd have to do some driving, too. i was more or less just pointing out that there's alot of us that are close to one another. to do a one day thing , the turn out should be pretty good.

the closest shop to me (i can get there in like 20 min.), they have a very small carpet track upstairs, but wouldn't be good for anything other than 1/12 scale. outside, they have a huge banked asphalt oval with a road course in the infield, and a large off road track. more suited to 1/8 scale though, in my opinion.

anthony, i'm not sure if bumps still has the offroad track in the infield or not. but i'd have no problem only running on the dirt oval.

Good luck with a get together guys,make it happen,its great to have like minded people all together in the same place.we do our run every fortnight and we end up talking vintage RC more that driving.The hardest part is finding a track that is vintage freindly as most usually resemble a supercross track nowadays and are real car breakers.Best of luck.

how much time to you guys think you'd need to make plans to get together on a saturday or sunday? reason i ask, i'm sure you guys know it would be much easier to find an outdoor track to run at. but, we'd have to contend with possible bad weather.

if we'd pick a date, and during the week, or even the night before, the weather forcast didn't look so good, we could just reschedule for the following weekend and try it again. would you guys be able to work with that? or would it be the stated date or nothing?

its about 2.5 hours from me but i used to make the trip to race.
and atlantic city is 40 minutes away so it used to be a productive trip, and i usually gambled till i got comped a room so it always work out.

i'm ready now oh wait a minute i don't have my buggy yet i'm ok with a reschedule if we had to.

has marshall's groomed that off-road track in the last 5 years? last time i saw it grass had nearly grown over it and there were 2 guys beating the hell out of it with some 1/8th buggies

ya, i'm under the impression that they don't bother with the offroad track anymore.
