Re: Masami WCS 93 replica (43 month update) 11/2013 NIP cha
So, a member here listed his WCS parts lot to help pay for a small country, and another member and I unknowingly battled it out. Last April.
We worked it out afterward to split the lot up, but I forgot about the auction after paying for all of it, minus the shipping, I was reminded of it a couple of weeks ago and now.....here it is!!!
Big thanks to Pedro for offering the lot up! Big apologies to Hyeong for forgetting all about this stuff!

It was great reading this thread. I really love the attention to detail. Wonderful stuff. If I were to dip my toe into the 4WD waters again I think a 93WCS would be amazing. However knowing how much I spent on a relatively simple RC10, I doubt I can justify spending double that again (on twice the number of super rare parts in a Yokomo, plus spares). Very cool to see yours though

plus I think I have extra parts from my build, like some aluminum fasteners, arm mounts and arms etc.....just need to dig some! I also found the 24k plated Yokomo battery bars that were on Masami's car (like 6 months ago) .....59burst wrote:let me see my parts too

And a NIP uncut and un-painted Yokomo Works 91 or 93 lightweight shell and undertray......
And Derbydan found and sent (out of the blue!) The KO Propo decal for the underside of the rear wing!
I missed my deadline for the build because of school, I have a ton of stuff to do still- including replication of masami logo decals, and tracking down a Kose heatsink.set (in blue) for the KO Propo CX-12 esc... But, Jake is building his CNC......so maybe LOL

Dude you live!!!
Good to see you back in action.
Keep watching the CNC thread since I will be updating it as I go.
It would be nice to see you get this one going again, super sweet build.

It's even better having you back state-side. I have wanted to comment in the CNC thread, but honestly...it's way over my headSeabass wrote:Dude you live!!!

Re: Masami WCS 93 replica (43 month update) 11/2013 NIP cha
So along with the chassis came a genuine WCS rear bulkhead,
-until this point I really had no idea what one actually was since this car started as a 94' YZ10, and pages and pages (and years) back I had machined the ears off a NIP 870c rear bulkhead. It worked, and I didn't know what the difference was anyway
So to do the full replica I have to hand grind the rear portion of the bulkhead away as Masami did- but I couldn't bring myself to do this to a new, actual WCS part So the rear bulkhead that I did years ago came off, and I corrected it (lowered the underside on the bulkhead by 2mm by hand with a mill bastard file), and cleaned up the sides. My hand is sore so later tonight I'll hand grind the rear of the unit

I'm sure the ones I have are way too big but what size lexan case for the receiver?
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Do you have a picture of this one? I might have one (if I can find it). Is it the one in blue with diagonal fins?Charlie don't surf wrote: locate (or make) Kose blue broached heatsinks for KO Propo CX-12 and then machine

Just go 2-3 years back in this "on going" build thread
Or page 7 almost at the bottom, there´s a blurry image showing the ESC.
