This is what I think should be, wonder how many are correct down to this detail.
What's in your Edinger shocks?

Mine does. I know this because tearing the car apart is as far as I've gotten on the restoration.

I have 3 Edingers, one is an early one, but only one of the 3 had the slotted pistons...but now the other two have them after I put them in from my old stash of stuff I managed to have three sets with one still new in bag I'm keeping in case I get another car without them (I have another 4th Edinger on its' way to me with the "non-goodyear" tires) .

Not meaning to hijack this away from the pistons, but I was looking at my Edinger shock stuff and noticed sometning I have not before. I have different types of bottom shock mounts. I thought I knew most of the differences such as the narrow cap gaskets and so forth.
These are the shorter, fatter bottoms in the kit with the pistons with edge slots.
This is the comparison to the Edinger shocks with the holes in the pistons.
I will need to look but did all the Edinger shocks have the solid spring retainer? I wonder if the solid ones were wider in the middle than the split ones?

Yes, from what I have seen (except for the early rear "cups")

True, I remember seeing up to three different shock bottom pivots in the years I have had brand new RC10's since 1985 CamplinP. Obviously changes & improvements to the molds occured as product development continued.
Same with the shock seals; with some being very small OD but still inside of the shock nut, to some being about the same dia. (point to point) as the shock nut , and eventually the large ones that most all of the Cadillac cars are seen with.
Development continued, probably from input from local drivers, until they were happy and/or the tooling was done. This development process probably also included material selection (aluminum and nylon) all the way to the anodizing color they finally selected in the end for the majority of their cars chassis.
My coming from an R&D engineering background myself, I love seeing these things as it shows that the company continued to refine and improve their product as much as possible. They could have easily just not done anything because they were the World Champions back then and left it as-is (not invest more cost and time) like other companies do, but AE was built upon a racing foundation of excellence and development continued on this one car.

Doesn't the Dynamic Strut front end for the RC10L and 12L have those short fat upper arm eyelets that look like that, part #8411?

Good call, Al. Here's a shot of my 10L front end and a shock end/pivot from my Edinger buggy.

Just got my 4th Edinger car, it came with the light gold anodized chassis, noseplate, motorplate and shocks , it has the original clear diff-cover, came with the Goodyear style tires but without "Goodyear" on any of them, and it came with the transmission bowed clip instead of the nut. Open up the shocks and it too has these very tiny two-hole pistons. Go figure.
Thankfully I still have 1 set left of the notched ones.

Can't imagine you wanting a car without Goodyear on the tires. Ruffy, you should throw it in a box and send to me so I can get rid of it for you.

Hard to tell. The two different ends I have are very close to the same length. The seem as thick as those on the arms but longer.
