- RC-12 Mini Racer, the very first Yokomo kit -

Though I am not an on-road guy, I have a weak point for vintage and especially for ealry kits. This RC-12 was falling under these two categories and as the price was fare and the seller a member here, I said to myself WHY NOT? Now that I received the package, I'm even more happy of course! The Mini Racer was the very first Yokomo kit available, released in 1977 (almost as old as me, lol). It's always such a pleasure to open a kit that stayed unopened and almost intact for more than 30 years. The kit is more than complete with an extra chassis, tons of spares, OE manual and sticker sheet, uncut Lamborghini lexan body and more. The only sad thing are one front and one rear wheel missing. I was aware that this kit existed not so long ago when I first saw one on eBay. After some research, I found some useful info on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_Racer_RC-12 and learned that it was produced when Yokobori Mokei (=model) changed their name to Yokomo. The only other car I was able to spot was on Tamiyaclub: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=70706&id=20749
One of these days I plan to build it, but it will have to wait like all my other lagging projects
The OE box:

Inside the box:

The body and decal sheet:

And the manual is really funny with these typical Japanese "Manga" drawings, everything is hand drawed
