Hirobo ZERDA modded.

I have always liked the look of the pipe framed buggies and ZERDA has to one of my very favourites.
I bought this Zerda in very good condition from an old racer mate for a real bargain. It came with the box and a pile of new spares too.

Not happy with the standard car and after seeing David Killroys Zerda drive a few years ago in a vintage meeting I set out to make a few changes on the factory design.

Its not rocket science but after looking at an alloy GPM shock tower upgrades I set out to make something of my own. Fibreglass plates stiffen up and reduce all the flex that made the car seem like it was made of plastaseen.

This car is fully ballraced and the original shocks have been swapped out for a set of very nice AYK Boost alloy shocks which keep with the original look of the black kit shocks. Ive fitted a HOBBYWING 35amp brushless esc and 3750kv motor and the car really sings along nicely now. Modified hex adapters allow for the use of Lazer ZX5 2.2" rims and modern rubber.

Now all I need to do is get it onto the Castle Hill race track.

Hey Jason, looking good as usual. Didn't you have one before with a mid-moter conversion?

David Killroy had that car. He said it was awesome to drive but I just prefer to stay with the original design myself. :D

Would you care to share how you managed to modify a hex hub to fit onto the Zerda's wheel axle? Thanks.
