Local consignment score

Found this for a song in Burbank. Looks like it has technacraft turnbuckles, houge bellcrank, some weird shock towers I don't know, cvds, an interesting washboard like motor heatsink, carbon transmission brace, RPM gear cover and a Novak 410-M5. It also included about 16 (yes, sixteen) scr battery packs. Some of the parts were white and have been dyed and the chassis has some left over residue from chassis tape. It should clean up nicely.

PS - Don't tell the wife I took the pic next to her clean dishes.

I thought the new rule was that you had to post up the cost so we can all see how much of a bargain it was.
Nice score!

Yes, these are the shock towers. What are they made out of? I don't think they are carbon fiber. The price was roughly 500 pesos.

I've disassembled the car and it never ceases to amaze me how poorly people put cars together. This guy did one of those gorilla kung-fu grip tightening jobs on all the screws. The inside of the transmission is packed with black grease. Awesome! The chassis is straight and everything else seems to work. I think I may create another what's old is new car. Basically, all I need are the suspension arms and a handful of easy-to-obtain parts.

It's always fun to giggle when you take apart a car built by a trained ape. When I got that ebay B3, the guy had spayed wd-40 in the diff. Wow.

Personally, I like the guys who Loctite EVERYTHING. Loctite on locknuts, on self-tapping screws, I even found one that had loctite on some e-clips! They are usually the same ones that use a half roll of electrical tape on the wires, but at least that's a step up from duct tape

In the words of Red Green:
"If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."
"If at first you don't succeed, then use more duct tape."
"You cannot make a fine quality lager using Kool-Aid Technology ..."
"Duct tape is like the force, it has a light side, a dark side and it holds the universe together."

DUCT TAPE RULES!!

My Dad hated to take me to the hobby shop. So when I was younger I found myself rebuilding diffs with a can of Quaker State wheel bearing grease.
