Does anyone know if a Buick Grand National body was ever made or better yet still being made? I've got a Turbo Regal and would to have a matching R/C car.

There was a Kyosho complete, I think it was called Stock Car Regal or something similar. Basically it was a late 80's Buick Regal Nascar bodied kit. The body was pretty nice looking. That's the closest I know of to a GN. I thought about getting one back in the day and painting it black because my parent's had an 87 GN.

Rick, I don't think that's what he's talking about. I think he's looking for a G-body Grand National. Those Regals are the generation after and they didn't have a GN model, I think they had a GS model. I don't have an image of the Kyosho kit, but I might have an image in an old RCCA I can scan. In the mean time, this is the 1:1 GN. Bad to the bone.

Thanks for your help guys. That's the exact car I'm looking for. I only wish mine looked that good!!! I'd love to find a 1984-87 Buick Grand National body (G Body) or even a plain Jane Regal body. I've owned mine for 10 years now and have never seen a body for sale anywhere, even eBay. I was planning on emailing the body manufacturers. But the original black GN is 26 years old now. So I doubt they will make them again if they made one.

Man, this is dredging up an old topic, but why, oh why, is there not a 1/10-scale Lexan body of this legendary Buick??!

I was researching this all over the 'net and found one thread dated back to 2007 where some guy had been in some negotiations to have Monogram produce a 1/10 body, and another later thread by the guy proclaiming that "the body is here!!" and stating it would be in production soon...and then both threads just died. :x

If I could make a mold of my 1/1 '86 GN and scale it down to 1/10, I would...

In response to the original topic...I did a bunch of research tonight and managed to turn up info on a particular toy RC that was sold at Wal-Mart, made by Motormax Hi-Riserz, an '87 Regal. It was a silly low-rider POS with a Regal body on it, but I was thinking--if somebody could get their hands on one of those, it could be used to vacu-form a GN body. Here's a picture of it, it came in several ridiculous colors like lime green, purple, etc. The body looks detailed enough, anyway.
