Before this year ends. 8)
The street price would be cheaper than their entry-level rc vehicles.
I'll update when I get more info on it.

for some reason i'm not excited for this one and i love tamiya's. lol

i wasn't even that excited for the srb's. i guess i like the mid 80's cars better because thats what was out when i got into rc.

now if they re-re the wild one i'd be all over it.

I'm in the same boat here....(mid 80's when I first got into rc cars). The only real interest I'd have in any more Tamiya re releases would be the avante or maybe the bigwig. I know they'll probably never do it, but I can dream :)

I was going to pick up the buggy champ or sand scorcher, but just can't bring myself to drop $300 on one since they were older kits and don't have that much nostalgia for me. So far I've built a grasshopper, fire dragon and boomerang in their re-release forms. Boomerang went on 1 "gentle" run, and the grasshopper has been flipped several times....it's tough putting that much time into a kit and then bashing it. Of course, that's why I have tamtechs!

very weird that they would stray from the original.. that is part of the re-re appeal, im surprised tamiya would stray from that to be honest

7800 yen Japanese is like $85, that seems too cheap.

mikedealer-- your link is a Sand Viper with a Holiday buggy body. The DT-02 goes for about $140 and I don't think Tamiya can give them away. ;) The nostalgia bandwagon may be a way to clear out some bad inventory. Lousy re-re.... good business sense.

the frog is 6800 - 7500y here. so 7800 is probably spot on.
