Im interested in what other peoples thoughts are on the classic SUPERSHOT. Sure they aren't exactly the ultimate vintage performer but they look so darn HOT!

Here's mine tearing up the race track with a 19 turn.

I love them but haven't ever owned one. I own two Hotshots, an original and a re-re which i think are some of the coolest looking vintage cars. As the logical evolution of the Hotshot, a Supershot is a must have!

I love the looks of the hotshot and supershot. But while the supershot has a better suspension than the hotshot it shares all the designweakness I experienced with ly first car; the boomerang. That's why I didn't get a re-re boomer or hotshot but picked up the body set of the rer-re hotshpt and used that on an ultima and yokie hotdog.

The Super Shot was a musthave for me all the time. Last week , i finaly got him :) It was one of those hazardous auctions on the bay. Bad pics , inexact description. After a first view and disassembly, the familiar dilemma  Enough good parts for restoration ? the start of a new project ? a money sink ?? sale the good parts for other tinkerer ?
Junk >> Rims, tires, body, wing, main gear, ball bearings,
The rest is useful in great measure. What would you do ?
I allways wanted one, but now i know, it would be a long and expensive way for me to receive a nice runner or a good shelfer

The real beauty now days is with the re-release of the Hot Shot and repro bodies available its not quite as hard to build and keep one of these cars going.

Im happy running mine as the parts that wear or brake are still dirt cheap anyways.

In Belgium the shops won't order the spare parts of the re-re's; they claim tamiya only offers the kits not parts :(

Great shots and read in the latest RC Car mag about your event! Sucks about the rain, but you guys made the best of it! Well done! Nice car BTW!

at my hobby shop in the us i can get anything but i have to pre-pay. Tamiya has so many cars that they don't want a bunch of random parts on the shelf....

You did see this car and many others from the meeting, I write the vintage articles for R/C CAR Magazine every month.

Have been doing it for 6 years now!

There were some great cars running at the event - and more than a couple of brilliant Hotshot/Supershot variants. I posted a picture thread for you all a while back.

The Supershot is arguably the toughest looking Tamiya ever.

Cheers

It has been released in the States - August 2010 issue.

I wrote it just after the meeting was held! I am usually about 2 to three months ahead. Writing the October issue now.

Cheers
