I just received this CC motor plate, and was curious to know what the extra holes are for? Maybe the RC10 gurus could help me with this one! :D

I scanned the plate while still in the package! Hence the ugly looking finish!

They are propably for jigging the part for the CNC routing process. There would have been screws in those holes (holding the part down) while the part was being cut. Just a guess though. -Jeff

That may be as good an explanation as I'm going to get!! And it turns out this motor plate is for the 6 gear trans!

well, that's nothing a drill can't fix.

i thought the same thing, that the holes are there to hold the part in place during routing.

I don't think they would have drilled holes to hold the part down during routing. I've operated a CNC router and you would start with the inner holes first then the outside edge. So there would be no need for screwing the part down. You can also use double sided tape to hold the part in place if needed.
