m_Vice - first graphite RC10

I am finally starting a new RC10 build. I feel like I have not built anything in years.
This project started 4 years ago when I started making custom towers. The towers in the rear for this car are lowered so I can use RC10T 1.02 front shock on the rear. The other part was to build an all black part RC10 graphite chassis (this is my first graphite chassis) with white Andy’s arms. I also have some custom blue aluminum parts in the rear and some other aftermarket stuff.

My plan is to have a roller by the end of the weekend.

---------------------------------------------------

First thing was to mod the extra wide front part of this chassis, Duratrax and Composit Craft (I believe this one id a Duratrax) made a chassis like this and it was always to wide so the arms would hit the chassis and the body would not fit.

I also built a 6 gear tranny for this car. This is my original tranny from my first RC10.

Cool project. I want to do the same thing with the rear shock tower on my buggy, since I don't have a stock shock tower anyway. Any dimensions on it? I have a stock World's tower in CAD but I measured it from a catalogue sketch.

Very nice. Good to see a project coming from your side of the house. Can't wait to see more pics. I now know that those blue ano parts were for.

Looking forward to watching this one.. I am currently working on a B2/3 which I had white rod ends on lunsford turnbuckles for. I'm still just piecing it, but like the black/white combo so much, I've got a few ideas brewing. Maybe I'll start a thread this weekend with a few pics.

Got it build this morning, working on adjustments. The idea for the short rear shocks is actually awesome. I get full travel but with a shorted lower tower. I am working on version 2 of the towers so I can eliminate the spacer in the shaft and use a small limiter inside. The setup works great using the middle hole on the arms, it is very cool IMO.

The wheels are taking a peroxide dip this weekend and if sunny I will mount them up on Sunday.

I am waiting for some material to cut a rear motor plate and a battery brace. I am looking for a matching material to the chassis, taking suggestions if anyone knows where to get the material.

Tires:
I am going for some aggressive stuff up front (Losi center rib) and crazy traction in the rear.
When the Traxxas (Pro-Traxx 4750, buggy) Blue Eagle came out it came with these rubber and back in my home town the tires had tone of traction on the loos sandy tracks we had. On one of my searches on old Shops I found a 2.0 set for the buggy.

Miguel,

I am not sure what alloy the chassis is. I would assume 6061 but you never know.

What exactly are you looking for? Thickness?

I am sure you have tried Master Carr, if not they have pretty decent prices and thier shipping and customer service is out of this world.

Sorry, it is not a motor plate but a tranny brace and battery brace, so i am looking for CF sheet 2mm or 3/32" thick.

Thanks for the comments. I am very happy with it :D

vintage AE this one is not a old is new car. I have a 6 gear on this one, it is more of an old is old but new car...

OK, very sunny day today so the wheels are outside taking a dip. I am thinking I will dress this 10 with a Jammin Jay Jumper Body w/Wing. It is a very unique body and I think it will fit the car very well.

I really like this one.

looking real good Jake!

I know it's not a old is new build, but is looking very similar to something I am brewing up. Are those RPM bellcranks?
