Well the duratrax rims look good but they break apart easily. So I ordered some rims from thundertiger4u.com. Was also told via e-mail from thunder tiger that they are nylon and dyable.

Those fronts look like B4. The white looks like the Chinese AE wheels, too. Not sure if they are really Nylon. If the rears don't fall apart like the Duratrax wheels, that's an improvement.

Another note on the Duratrax wheels...thin CA seems to be better as far as the cracking, plus keeping off the tubes helps.

I have some. They seem a little more brittle than the standard AE or JC wheels. They are however, dyeable. I posted pics somewhere back some time ago of a set I dyed Yokomo pink. They are not tapered for the early axles. That can be accomplished with a body reamer though.

The original B3 rims are hard to find. The duratrash rims break. Did I waist my money on these ? Read that the Thunder Tiger Phoenix BX were a good replacement rim.

If you are using them for racing you did not waste your money, unless the Duratrash wheels were significantly cheaper. In the racing world wheels are pretty much a throwaway anyhow. Only us restoration geeks try to save old wheels, and that's only for shelf duty... My real concern was the front wheels offset, they look like B4 wheels. Perhaps the TT buggy uses the longer GT wide axles?

No, you did not waste your money. They are not on par with the current B4 wheels in construction material, in my opinion, but they are the only option. They aren't going to fall apart, but for heavy bashing I wouldn't be surprised to see cracking.

I picked up a set at my LHS on wednesday and noticed the same thing. A quick mock up on my graphite RC10 with 3/8 x 3/16 bearings, shows everything clears okay. They definitely have less of a dish than B3 fronts, and they're wider aswell. Similar width to the pro-line wide B3 fronts... :?

Well this is the car there going on. I have a set of new wide GT axles. I 'll just use the wide axles for the front rims .

do people see the duratrax wheels cracking near the bearings or near the CA glue? If they used a blend of nylon and other plastics, the ca could attack the plastic, especially if it's ABS or styrene blended. If that is the case, foam safe ca would solve the cracking problem.

Oh! I love the retro B3 paint job on that, nice job!

I noticed the fronts seemed wider, too. Any issue with tire fit?

Well, this sucks considering I just ordered Duratrax wheels for my B3 following the thread I posted about converting it (sport model) to CDV's on the tech section.

Why does is suck?

I still contend that guys are using non-foam safe CA and that is why they are having problems, since they feel like they are a plastic blend, and not 100% nylon.

try them out, the worst that can happen is that they crack during racing....then either get the thunder tiger ones, or keep an eye out for real B3 ones...they aren't that hard to find.
