Back then all stock motors were off the shelf with someone's label slapped on them. You could get a "good" one or a "crappy" one, regardless of the name on it. Stock motors were stock motors... not much different outside of the decals on them.

Now in mod motors, however, CAM made some spectacular horsepower. They were big in oval racing, specifically superspeedway type. They had a good following in 1/12th carpet, as well. Chris Doseck was one of their main drivers, and had many championships with CAM motors. Tate McDaniel was the main guy there, and built killer horsepower. Those motors were the SHIZ at Whippoorwill Speedway back in the day. Very pan-car oriented motors, for whatever reason. Fast.

I've always found it hard to find CAM motors on eBay because the name always comes up with so many useless search results.

Yes shodog, nice find! Eau Rouge is right too, for some reason, CAM mods were more popular in on-road than they were in off-road back then.

Here is a pic of the motors I scored. They are 14 turn mod motors. I mean you can't pass up a $10 motor

Here is another couple of items I found in the $.99 box. I honestly felt guilty when I payed for them.

Very nice finds. The motors would look really nice in a TRC, Trinity or Composite Craft pan car. ;)
