What's the best bang for your buck with hardcase car lipos these days?
Looking for something I can throw in the kids cars for playing or for practice at the track.

Good price and good run time. Only real problem is the location of the wires interferes with most of the battery boxes in my cars.

its funny using the word explosive in any sentence connected with lipo,s looks like a good deal but they are always out of stock

you could look into the turnigy hardcase lipos, they are pretty cheap, and get the job done alright. hobbyking.com sells them. the only downside is the wait for them to get here from overseas.

I have a bunch of the hobbycity lipos, all have been great. What kind of cars will they be using them in? The hardcases don't want to fit in tamiya style vehicles with the rounded trays, but will work in most others. I have had the flightmaxx 4000 mah hardcases for probably a year and a half and still work great.

I have a couple of the Turnigy 5200 hard case Lipos. They are good batteries but a little on the big side. Plus the wires are super huge and they need to be changed to something more managable.

I also have a lightmax 4000 lipo hardcase that has been a really good battery as well.

Both batteries give nice long run times with plenty of juice. Hobby King sells both packs at very reasonable prices. The Turnigy packs are always on backorder so you will probably wait about two months (I did) to recieve them. The lightmax packs are in stock. IRC they are roughly $20 - $30 ea.

Actually I just checked Hobby King and they are showing they have the Turnigy batteries in stock. Nice batteries they are a bit on the big side though.

I went with a couple of these turnigy packs:

I picked those because it looks like the end of the case is notched so that the wires can either exit top or front, which makes it easier to fit in certain chassis setups.
I'll post my impression when I get them and run'em

turnigy is great, i love mine. the 10 gauge wire is a pain to solder on to deans though.

Is size an issue with lipos fitting into the battery slot shown in my configuration below? I have a couple really old nicd packs that barely fit.

a 5000 mah lipo will not fit into the rear batt slot. a 3000-3600mah will fit. 5000 are just too fat.

you could go old school and put the 5000 across the pan

thats true, it's been so long i almost forgot that could be done.

in that case anything will fit. lol

so where do you get an adapter if all your stuff is deans?
