AYK MAVERICK project.

For years Ive wanted a 2 speed MAVERICK and its only now that I can come close to owning one.
This is just the early stages of my project but I have a new 2 speed waiting to go in and many other nip parts on their way in the mail as I write this.
While the factory arms were meant to be the black version Ive opted for the orange as I just love the extra bling. I will fabricate my own radio plate as I'd like to mount the steering servo up front rather than in the rear.
Its a way from being completed but I'll update with more news as it progresses.

Just thought I'd update my Mav' project.
With the help of Aaron and Paul I have this car closer to being near complete. I opted to make my own radio plate from fibreglass sheet, mounting the steering servo up closer to the front end and locating the battery a little further back with some Optima battery craddles.
I managed to buy back the red bumper, steering gear and top chain guide from a nice fellow off ebay. I sold these parts along with others a while back but he wasn't in need of Radiant parts.
I PB 2 speed arrangement has been fitted along with a Maverick 2 speed lexan gear cover. Marui NINJA driveshafts were used as I didn't have any spare OEM parts and they work really well. The front rims have a one-way bearing pressed into them also.
Ive also opted for some different tyres which are to my liking. Next job will be to modify the steering cranks as I am missing the alloy post which they pivot on. This will be fun.

When I've had a little spare time this weekend I've been working on my Maverick some more.
Now the steering gear is in the car along with a servo too. The rear tower has been sanded down to allow the body to sit a little lower on the chassis and hopefully alow a more low profile look to this car. The shell has been trimmed to allow battery fitment also.
Sorry for the average picture but I wanted to get an update up here before going to bed. Cheers-Jason.

I've been busy working on this car again and have the bodyshell painted. After it dries I'll apply some decals and get some fresh pics up here. For now i will leave you with an image of the box art.

Nice! Kind of a semi-reverse-box-art thing going there. Looks amazing as usual!
