I have been wanting to start a project to race on a large MX style track predominantly used by 1/8 cars and trucks. I love the way a trailing arm car runs and handles. The track is loose and rough with huge jumps. It will be a 10th scale buggy built with either old or inspired by old technologies mixed with some new stuff. My current plan is to use A GT2 front section with b4 arms and shocks on a custom 4mm carbon fiber plate chassis with mounts for A&L trailing arms that i can adjust for camber gain and toe for tuning. the transmission will be somewhat custom mid mounted lethal weapon or 4 gear x factory variant to get the proper rotation and to not fight the trailing arms over squat problems. The chassis with have 1/2" ribs bonded with a 3M aircraft adhesive to add additional longitudinal stability will maintaining a flexible torsion position to assist the trailing arms work a little better. the buggy will need to meet ROAR dimension requirements. If i could get any feedback from some old schoolers that have raced or used trailing am cars and understand the geometry limitations/advantages i would appreciate it. I will post the cad files for the chassis and any parts i need to fabricate to the community so that they can use them for there passion as well.Give me your ideas and have discussions and i will build it! Here are pics of my last fun build.

Great idea to use the GT2 front clip! this is going to be a cool build. Your ideas sound like they're going in the right direction.

Here's mine. Its a bit different now. I'll have to update the pics.
I've always loved trailing arm cars too. I thought it would be cool to do a mid motored one.

What I found with my trailingarm racer was that it's difficult to get enough suspension travel without running into extreme angle or angle changes.
I Think the solution would be to use longer arms but don't have the tools to make something descent.
