Lowered and looking like a nascar craftsman series racetruck.

It's got the velineon 3500kv brushless motor system.
It also has the pro-line suspension kit.
I started out with a 90-spur, 23-pinion.
Then went to 83/25......then 83/26.
Then I got some 7.4v 5000mAh lipos.
Then went to a 76-spur and a 28-pinion.
This was when I lowered it. I was pretty happy with that. I had to try really hard to get the truck to come "loose". It was cool, I could crank the wheel at full throttle and not lose it (usually).

Then I got a 31 tooth pinion....now I have to be a little more careful.
....but I refuse to run a wheelie bar.

I'm not racing this....I'm going for top-speed.
I have access to a nice big long parking lot that's usually empty on the weekends.

Looks cool. How does it handle? I'm sure it's a rocket.

Thanks, and yeah it's getting there. I have since cut the front fenders out (more) because the tires were rubbing.

It handles very well I think. As long as I don't have it going at top speed (with the 76/31 gears) I can crank the steering sharply without much fear of flipping it. It corners really good and tends to slide if your going too fast instead of flipping over. I was actually trying to flip it with the 76/28 gears and a 7.4v lipo and it would not budge.....well till it caught a crack in the asphalt anyways.

Looks and sits just like Scott Douglas' real race truck. Its amazing how all the newer Pro 4/Pro 2 trucks sit so low. When the go over the jumps the suspension drops out like 2 feet. Its awsome to watch! I wish I could run my Super Stock class truck that low. Sure would corner alot better!

Thanks,

Believe it or not it can be run over dirt like this. Yes it gets stuck but not as bad as you would think. Jumping however.....would be a bad idea.

I have since gone to 3S lipo and a 35 tooth pinion. Also switched from running rustler fronts all the way around to rustler rears. I lose a little stance (width) but the tires look more realistic in the wheelwells/renders now.

I've pretty much got it going as fast as I dare now.

Wow, I have not visited this thread in a loooong time.

That truck as you see it, no longer exists. It has gone through 2 more incarnations, the last of which was very sucessfull. The stock frame was swapped with a stretched rustler frame (2 made into one long one). The end result was 74 mph.

The truck has since gone back to off-road duty (still with the long rustler frame).

Glad you liked it though, I had a lot of fun with that truck.
