What to do with my 870c?

Hey everyone, new here, I have what I think is a 870c YZ-10. I bought the car new, and it was sold under the Team Associated name, so is that the correct model? I used to race it all the time during my high school days, and took quite a few #1 wins with this car. It was the car to have during that era, and I really put it through it's paces.

Now, many years later, I still have the car, and it's still in running condition. I do not like the idea of owning a shelf queen, so my debate is whether to sell it to someone who may appreciate it more as a "classic" and get something a bit newer where parts are much cheaper and more abundant, or keep it and just run it until I can no longer fix it, with the option then selling it or parting it out.

I've been looking around for a little bit, and I see many of you are die-hard yokomo enthusiasts, and that's awesome, but I could never get into restoring it on that kind of level. I have a 1966 Mustang to keep me busy with that type of work.

Maybe one of these days I will get some pictures to show it off too.

The YZ-10 is still a very capable race car believe it or not. Little goes wrong with this model and what parts do wear or brake are still available at times here and on ebay for starters.
Sell it and you just may regret it.

Well, I'm still considering what to do with it. Will this car handle a brushless setup, like a Mamba 7700, or do I need something less powerful? I used to run mine with a modified motor, and it did quite well, but that was so long ago.

The 7700 is stupid power but the software can be fine tuned to get it to behave. Are you wanting to set this car down on a track and show it some true justice or will it be a park basher? I'd recommend the first as you'll gain more by turning some sweet laps then you will driving it into a gutter or tree - LOL!
The drivetrain is quite solid on these cars but just check things are as they are meant to be before unleashing the full power of a 7700 on this car.
