Question about spur gear on RC10 CE stealth

Both my stock 81 tooth 48p spur gears got messed up years ago so I have a Robinson racing white machined thing on there that I bought at a hobby shop ages ago. I cant get much smaller than a 17t pinion on there because the motor is actually touching the trans- no more adjustment room. So after counting the teeth on the spur gear, there's 81 teeth but it is smaller in diameter than the stock 81t spur gear. How can that be? I counted like 6 times, 81t, but about 1.5mm (eyeball) smaller than stock. I don't get it. The teeth looks the same as stock, It had 48pitch on the package if I remember correctly.. it was 10 years ago though. It works fine except for the spacing. I actually want to try an 83 tooth or higher for more adjustment room (and lower gearing).

Anyway, I was wondering which spur gears work for my car. Can I use B2/3/4 spur gears? Is there a list of interchangeable cars/buggies/trucks that can use the same spur gears anywhere? I will be buying off internet, no HS close by- so I want to be sure. Any recommendations on a place to buy them would be appreciated too. -Thanks

B2/b3 gears will work, mostly made by Robinson Racing- Any current Kimborough gear in 48p will work for your buggy, they have 18 possible mounting holes/diff ball holes and generally hold up well.

You can use the B4/T4 gears, but you have to switch to the B4 topshaft, and the B4 ( better anyway) slipper assy'- Perhaps someone else can chime in with the PN#'s

And welcome to RC10talk-
