That is pretty clean looking. Quick question, are those Schumacher front tires?

Thank all.
Front tires are just of a RTR 4wd here in OZ.
Front wheels are cut down rear to fit the narrow front tires. Losi tires will be fitted once i get my order.

Hi Mark.
For me the Lazer ZX was the dux nuts back at around 1989. I remember seeing prototype cars at the 'worlds' event as St Ives and there was a real buzz in the air as Kyosho had stepped the competitive level from the Mid's to the Lazer. Come to think of it just the word 'LAZER' was a real buzz word back then (well it was for me anyway) and this car seemed very desirable when it was fresh on the scene here in Australia. Finaly Kyosho had a car that could easily rival the likes of Yokomo and Schumacher and i think the ZX is a really neat vintage racer. No doubt this could be your number 1 ride from here on in when it comes to Kyosho (and i know how you love your Kyosho's)
Im really glad to see you get this project under way and look forward to seeing you put this car through its paces as i know you will.
Well done mate!

Thanks for the kind words Jason.
I have been wanting a Lazer for a long time now but they seem to be few around for sale.
For me the Lazer just came out as i got out of racing for 10yrs. Doh.
I remember seeing adds for it and i thought to my self it was just revamped MID. Now i have one boy im wrong. Nothing is the same as the MID.
This one came from E Bay U.K and had a buy it now for 80 quid or make a offer so i offered him 60 quid and he took it. Postage was to the U.K only so had it posted to my parents, It cost another $100 AU for postage to OZ. So before i even touched it it owes me $200 Au. Needs new shocks and towers, Body, Undertray And dual edlement ring which all came from Team Blue Groove. New belts are in the way.
This won't be cheap but can't wait to race it and looks good next my original 1987 Optima mid that i still have.
Cheers.
Mark

Hi Isobarik.
The decals were custom made by Dark Designs of e bay, You need to state the 3 colors you want.
So i asked for black on the outside so will blend in with my black shell. Red outline of Kyosho and main color fluro yellow. Its printed on white vinyl. It was for the new Lazer ZX5 but thought i could just cut out the nu 5 so will just say LAZER ZX . Lucky it turned out.
Still got to do a strip down and full rebuild.

Ive always liked the look of the ZX shell. While the ZXS shell is also a nice shell it is far too remenisant o fht elater model cars. The ZX shell looks 'of that time' much like the Procat, 870c etc...
Mark you've inspired me to get back on the Lazer bandwagon. Cheers mate.

After seeing Rob (BULLFROG) 's ZX running a couple of year ago at the vintage enduro at Knox (Melbourne/Australia) and Mark's latest creation it makes me want in on the ZX action. (Rob's ZX even took out Concourse on the day too)
I really like the look of the ZX shell and bi-level rear wing (very much of the day in my opinion). I hope Rob doesnt mind but here's his beautiful example from a few years ago which I had some pics of.
