Hot Tricks Front nose will it fit...

a tub chassis.
After the responses on my first post, i have started thinking of using a tub chassis instead of the cut one on this buggy now. My concern is the cut spot sits lower than the nose and i can see it catching as it hits any bumps.
I want a smooth lower chassis..
thanks

thanks LOL..
i was not sure with how the sides of the nose fold up like the sides of the tub chassis if it would fit between.
the search continues..

The folded sides of the Hot Trick front end should fit right in the folded sides of the tub.

It should fit just fine. You may want to clean it really nice....

Oh it will get a good bath.. just need to figure out how to get the paint off. I am thinking brake fluid.. It should not ruin the alum..
Peroxiding the rest!

the composite chassis is a little thicker than the tub will be, but if the hot trick nose has a recess for the chassis, all you really need to do is put a leading edge chamfer on that chassis, just sand it down at an angle till it's about the same thickness as the hot trick nose thickness, then drip some CA on that leading edge to seal it.
that will make it smooth enough so that the edge won't catch on anything....

Jw,
i looked at the chassis plate tonight after i stripped the chassis down for cleaning.. I can not do that with this chassis. I need to remove half the thickness. The inside part of the chassis in the front feels soft and i think make the nose flimsy.
So i am going to stick with looking for another chassis.

Although they did produce a TriDirComp front shock tower for the standard width RC10 front, all of the Hot Trick front ends for the RC10 are the wide variety. They had a couple of styles - one they called their sprint car front end which has the tabs on the back of the plate for attaching the nose brace tubes, and the other style without those tabs. I have examples of both red and black anodized parts, and they apparently made parts in gold, too.
They also made a series of parts called the Race-lite series, which are just their parts in raw aluminum that have been drilled to reduce weight.
