I am finally going to get my first RC10L, first road car of any sorts.

I got this one from Jim (shodog). Looks to have a Composite Craft chassis and an unidentified front suspension setup. I got a CC T-bar spacer, CC nurf wings, CC top plate, and a CC rear sway bar for it off of ebay.

Here are some photos from Jim to get it started My plans are to go with LRP brushless in this. Getting some orange wheels from rc4less and go with a Gulf Racing theme. I have been searching for 235mm bodies, but options are limited. There are a couple that I like, but non has really stood out. I noticed that there are not servo mount holes, so I got to either use a strong double sided tape or drill holes. It's going to be ran, so I don't mind getting out the drill. Other than that, no major plans yet, I'm going to try my very best not to dye the white parts orange to match the color scheme.

Hmm, Looks like the HPI Front End like the one from the Road Star / Street machine series 1:10 and 1:12 cars. You do indeed have a 235mm Pro-10 car.

I am not sure about the chassis though, its kinda reminding me of an HPI aftermarket piece. Only reason I say that is that the texture looks just like the HPI RS12G Material, kinda rough - not perfectly "glass" smooth like a regular chassis, or CC version.

yup, you are right, it is a HPI front end. Mechanically looks like a good setup though. I might have to debate over swapping back to a 10L front end. If I did I think I would go for the white dynamic strut front suspension of the 10LS, that is unless that would make the front narrower, then maybe not

Man the car looks nice. It is good to see another pan car in the mix. I look forward to seeing what you end up with.

i kinda think that chassis is a home made job.

Jim told me it was a Composite Craft chassis. That's all I have to go on until I receive it. I just took his word, maybe I should do some digging online for what they look like.

It would keep the same width. The HPI Front end needs the center brace to prevent flexing, which causes the front suspension not to function propery. If you are building a runner though the Associated Front End is a better bet.

This car is going to turn into one of those ongoing projects. I wanted a 10L and ended up with a HPI front suspension and possibly a homemade chassis...at least the ass end and the bumper are from a 10L

I will make this car my own and turn it into one of the nices 10Ls out there. It might be a challenge but, I got a vision...just going to take time and $$$

I'm leaning towards white front suspensions, just not sure if I should go with the RC10l or RC10LS.

Does anyone know if they have the same track width? And mechanically, I am assuming that the LS one is better for higher speeds and handling, but is it?

but if the chassis is the constant, than the front end is the variable. I'm not changing the chassis, but possibly the front end, which is why I asked if the different front suspensions would change the track. Given the response, I guessing that they are the same.

ya, they're the same. the suspension pieces from mounting point to the axle is the same, no matter if they're on a 10l or a 10lss chassis. the difference is how far apart the mounting points are on the chassis.

Just thought I would let people know that I hold nothing against Jim. He showed me the photos and I said ok, so I got no one to blame but myself for the non Associated parts on the car. Jim offered a refund after he noticed me whining earlier Everything is cool with me and I look forward to getting the car I shouldn't be such a baby, not like I didn't see what I was getting

anyway, enough drama, time to move on
