MIP Transmission

I have an MIP transmission that came off a RC10 graphite chassis. Will it fit the RC10T aluminum tub without modifications? I understand that the internals are the same as the stealth transmission, is this correct? Also looking for a new or used black RC10T rear bulkhead part #6323.

the mip trans will fit. the internals are different. the bulkhead has been discontiuned for quite awhile now. ebay will be your best bet to get one.

MIP USES the 6 gear mounting holes. If their not allready countersunk you may need to do so on your chassis.DON

Is it worth swapping out a stealth for an MIP trans? There seems to be a premium for the MIP's and I personally don't know what the differences are in the two for the inexperienced racer like I am.

they are both about equivalent transmissions. the stealth has a lower ratio (2.25) compared to the MIP (2.0:1), so for a truck, the stealth is a little better geared.
the stealth is easier to get parts for should you break something.

first thing..... which mip trans do you have? the 2.00 sp1 or the 2.61 changebox? that would dictate which trans i'd use in a 10t.

How do you tell the difference?
Also, if you want to use the two battery box holder arrangement, is there a replacement bulkhead minus the battery box that will work with original equipment?

The one I have is identical to the SP1 picture.
Can you answer my other question about a replacement for the rear bulkhead if I use the two battery cup arrangement?

there are no readily available rear bulkheads to replace a stock bulkhead. that's why i said ebay is your best bet. there's always used ones on there, and every now and then a new one.

Thanks for the information.
Is there an aftermarket threaded shock that you would recommend?

Wasnt there a different change box also? Dropping the ratio the other way (lower), or am I getting that confused with RPM?

RPM did 2 versions, a 1.96:1 (I think...?) and a 2.65:1. Did MIP do an even lower ratio version?
