i just scored a 10t

a buddy of mine (who commutes with me) just paid me for gas with a nice 10t.
it's an early one i think, all white parts.

i've been searching the forum for a while with no luck. i have a few questions:

it's got dog bones and they have got to go, will t2 cvd's work?
if not i have read that we can use t4 hubs and t4 cvd's, correct?

i'm going to get a topshaft from a b4 so i can use the newer slipper. i noticed the b4.1 top shaft and gear look a bit different, like the gear is plastic.
should i stay away from that or is it ok to use? ratio the same on the b4.1? (rc10.com's manuals only list the b4.1 now so i can't check part #'s to see if it's the same as the original b4)

any input/opinions are appreaciated.

You can use T2/GT CVD's but make sure you have the correct bearings, off the top of my head 3/16 x 3/8. Here is the CVD set : http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAW07&P=7 These CVD's will fit any modern T3 or T4 wheel.

If you have 1/4" bearings and want to use your original wheels, you will need this CVD, but it's discontinued : http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAV74&P=7

The B4 top shaft works fine, the tooth count is the same on both! The B4 ratio is 2.6, your Stealth is 2.25. The difference is in the tooth count of the idler and the diff gears not the top shaft.

I have the old 1/4" CVDs, and I was wondering if it would be possible to convert them to the 3/16" CVD by using this part http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAW08&P=SM rather than buying all new CVDs.

Yup!

BTW, Tower uses their own part numbers! Look at the right side of the listing and it shows the manufactures stock/part number MIP 1083

Always try to support you local hobby shops first, if they don't have it then get it online!

so if i go with t2/gt cvd's and change the bearings i can use my og hubs? and then i can run modern wheels, right?

thanks for your help rod.

Yes you can use original hubs with those bearings and axle, the original wheels will also fit the new axle but not the best fit. I would get one piece wheels for the T3/T4.

Your welcome! 8)

Try Boca Bearings, if you must get them on line. Your local hobby shop should have them in stock, very common size for AE and Losi cars!

This Duratrax set for the B3/T3 will also work:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD033&P=7
It's weird, a set with thirteen 3/16x3/8 bearings (and bearings for the diff) is the same price as ten 3/16x3/8 bearings alone.

You can fit wheels with a 12mm hex on the rear with these from HPI:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXN057&P=7

And you can mount front wheels that use an 11mm bearing with these:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXN055&P=M

With the 3/16" axles you can use any wheel for the T2, GT, GT2 or T4 that are made for a 3/16" axle. The T3 wheels have a different off-set.
