Mega Score... Vintage Treasure!

It all started last week when one of my customers noticed the green pan cars up on display at the shop. He said "hey... a guy I work with has some old cars like that all boxed up. I'll ask him if he's interested in unloading them if you want" "Uhhh sure... have him bring them by and I'll take a look. I like those old cars." I told him. So a week later this guy shows up with a few boxes. Is a Metric A$$load a real unit of measure? If it is... that's what this guy brought in. I was speachless up until the point when I blurted out "I'll take it all". I should re-title this post "She's gonna kill me".

This one will go into the official "What is this" thread. I have no clue but it's neat.

There is an entire disassembled RC10 in that big ziploc bag on the right. All Andy's arms and crazy suspension mounts. Short shocks all the way around.
Image

There were several little coffee cans full of mystery goodies!

These are Brand new...

Another one for the "What are these off of" thread. The guy told me they were off of his friends car and that that car had a chain drive.

There's a bunch more stuff. I havent gone through it all yet. I'm gonna have Soncho come over and inventory it all with me later this week. If I am still alive.

Well technically its a Kyosho Super Alta. They came with different bodies. For example there was the Super Alta Porsche, Super Alta City Turbo, Super Alta Beetle, etc...

Nice haul by the way! :D

You do know that "RC" does not stand for "remote control", right?

I just know that information because I was in the market for one a while back but kept losing the auctions.

The thing about that is I almost never hear it correctly referred to as Radio Control these days. :?

Remote Control is when the controller is connected to the car via a power cable that also acts as a tether.

Radio Control is when the controller is not connected to the vehicle and instead communicates via radio waves.

Thanks for the quick responses on those mystery items!

Shhh... not too loud... my customers might overhear and figure out that I've been selling them radio control cars and not remote control cars. They'd all be mad and want the missing power cord and tether. ;)

Take a minute to enjoy the video I recently posted of my shops 2010 race series finale. If you look closely you can just make out the power cords ;)

Good thing I did or people would never get such useful information like that.
I've been around Halgar long enough to know he's a lost cause when it comes to this hobby.
