The car has many option parts, so please see the pics carefully so you can spot them.

Interesting. I recently asked someone if the pro-x transmission was a drop in item for an Ultima! Your pictures prove that it is an easy upgrade! Also, neat to have the whole Pro XL suspension on the ORIGINAL Ultima chassis. All that needs is the cage and a Proline Butterfly Body!

Is the "in chassis" steering from Lazer ZX and front hubs & knuckle/spindle arms RPM "18-degree kingpin angle"-stuff?

The steering is from THE TRIUMPH and the front hubs & knuckle/spindle is ROBINSSON RACING brand.

That is an awesome conglomeration of parts: Turbo Ultima chassis, Ultima Pro XL suspension arms, triumph tranny + steering and RPM spindles/links.

Does anyone know if those RPM spindles actually did what they were supposed to do?

Yes I had them in my rc10 back in the good days and the car was much easier to drive. Smooth car when the car goes in for the corner.
So for me they helped a lot.

PS It is the pro x tranny and not the triumph. The triumph tranny will also fit ultima with no problem.

Those were Robinson Racing Product hubs and spindles like Jerzi corrected. I didn't remember that correctly, RPM made a lot other similar parts.

The idea was that the kingpin's imaginary extension contacts ground at the same point where front tire contact ground, normally this point is more inner than the tire's contact point. Now when driving on jumpy ground, the force from front tires wants to make the front tires also to steer. With this RRP 18-degree thing eliminates this force and the front tires goes straight.

they eliminated tire scrub and by extension, also reduced bumpsteer, as Jirka said. they are pretty neat, and seemed to work well for me, but I was never competitive with my cars....

For me they didn't work. They made the car (Jrx2 Proformance kit) to understeer with same setup. I should have probably change my setup but it was easier just return the standard parts to the car.
