I finally found a programing box for my PDI Turbo Zeta. Thanks to Lowgear for pointing it out to me. I've been tinkering with the ESC for the past two nights trying to get it working in my Clodbuster. I have no problem programming forward. It is hooked up to run two 6 cell packs in parallel and I've got another 6 cell pack for reverse. I can't seem to get reverse to work on this ESC. I know it is different from other ESCs, and that you are supposed to "shift" into reverse. I haven't been able to figure this out for the life of me. I can't even get a brake to work yet. I haven't installed any capacitors on the motors yet, but I can't believe that would be the problem. Does anyone here have any suggestions for properly programming reverse on the Turbo Zeta? I really want to use this ESC in my old school Clod, but if I can't figure out reverse or at least a braking feature, it will have to remain on the shelf. I did change the ESC's internal battery for a new one.

Bringing back an old topic, because I'm a recent Turbo Zeta owner.

My Turbo Zeta wouldn't store programming settings and the forward throttle was very poorly calibrated. Apparently there is an internal battery for the memory (3v rechargeable battery ML2430). Upon careful disassembly, I found the battery in a shrink tube sleeve on the top side, and a dessicant pouch on the underside (assuming it's in case of a water leak). The resistor touching the pouch had gotten hot enough to burn the pouch, and there is a char mark on the bottom cover by the pouch. I patched the burn hole in the pouch and also put the dessicant back in. It might also prevent mold from growing in the case.

The ESC now records the throttle position programming, however I get the error flashes from the light when I try to enable reverse with the programmer.

If the one in the Drag Zeta box was a Drag Zeta, I probably would have gone for it. I have a couple of Pro Micro Zetas already though. They are cool...

This is the first time I've seen inside of one which is way cool. Surprised to learn there were desiccant pouches in them! I owned one for a while in the early 2000s that came in a vintage puller as they were used extensively with them back in the day.

It's interesting how they have the FETs arranged to use the case as a heat sink. Definitely not a lightweight design, but very unique.
