Kyosho Javelin at last

As winter sets in , I find myself surfing the forum more and more . I love a photo laden thread on a cool car . Or a neat story on how we find some of our " rides "

Well , as luck would have it , I heard about this car sitting in a local hobby shop over two months ago . I was out of province working and considering how many serious Kyosho guys in town I thought for sure one of our local vintage group would have snapped it up .

Not 24 hours after arriving home , I had confirmed the car was still available and drove up to see it . How can you not spot that roll cage , it stood out like a sore thumb .It was the first thing i saw as i entered, and walked out not two minutes later , car in hand . I sat in the parking lot for a good twenty minutes looking at it . I have never seen one other than pictures , and it took a while for it to sink in that i now owned one.

So here are a couple of shots i took as it was received . Not perfect , but that roll cage is a thing of beauty .

Since then , i flipped the front shocks over and installed CRP shock collars , The grub screw is barely tight enough to hold the tension of the spring , it was a bit nerve racking sliding them on .

I have ordered a decal set from Marwan , and sourced front and rear gear boxes NIP . Looking for a few odds and ends before i tear it down and do a complete rebuild . I would like to install all Novak electronics , RX - SC and receiver , i am wondering how all that orange will look .

I will post better pictures once i can get outside in some better light .

:o Funny, that was my thought a few months ago when I was thinking about finish my Javelin … Novak radio gear and a Race Prep motor, and now I’m waiting for a NIP Novak servo, a NIP Race Prep motor and an orange antenna tube that I picked up on eBay to arrive to Sweden. :D

Nice Javelin, looking forward to the restoration. :) I have a lot of spare plastic & metal parts for Optima/Javelin, including the older, weaker original control arms or stronger Turbo Optima versions. If you're missing anything, PM me--I might have it.

First off , for those that noticed , the rear rims have been swapped  As i stated before , Marwan decal sheet has been shipped , and Pargu2000 has confirmed that my items have been shipped .
Hcp22 , would love to see pictures of yours . I am hoping to get mine done before the new year , it will depend on shipping times .
One thing that i might need help with is the placement of decals . Nothing is mentioned in the manual so am i to assume that the box art was used for reference? Keep you posted .

Who could have possibly been so selfless as to point out the location of such an awesome specimen of vintage Kyosho goodness?? Truly, he must be a king among men?

Seriously though, he who would not take, lest others may have, IS a most generous individual.

You get an A+ for the setting on the first couple photos...I would have accidentally knocked it off that ledge knowing my clumsiness.
