What's a good modern replacement for the gear cover seal on an Optima/Ultima? (I tried cutting foam tape and it didn't work well)
What's a good modern replacement for the battery strapslon an Optima/Ultima? (Rubber bands work, but I want something better looking and more like the original straps)

i use the red servo tape from home depot for the trany cover seal .
clean up the cover cut some long strips 3mm wide, and go round the perimiter of the trans cover a couple of times . when you tighten up the 4-40,s it seals up air tight

I bought some battery straps on ebay a year or more ago... not sure if they were original parts but were nearly identical to the originals. I have seen them at least one other time since. Also I came across some almost exactly the same that came with a Dell server for work to wrap up cables, they must be available somewhere. I have never seen any that width at Home Depot or any other home improvement store. Good luck.
